  1. I think a luau theme for a summer party would be awesome. Some tiki-lights, grass skirts, Hawaiian bbq. It would be fun to have friends and family attend.

  3. Thanks so much for throwing the challenge!

If money was no object I would have Lady Gaga perform and I would have a huge feast and also I'm young at heart so I would want to have an amusement park party. In fact lets go crazy and I'll just rent Disneyland for a day and party all day and night!

  5. I think a murder mystery party out on a yacht would be so much fun. I have been to a couple murder mystery parties and they are a blast. Lots of food, lots of drinks, lots of water, and lots of mystery!

  6. I think since we're all book lovers it'd be fun to have a party where we all dress as our favourite literary character and then have book-themed food - like treats from Harry Potter, Turkish Delight from the Chronicles of Narnia, that sort of thing, plus a huge bookish cake. We could have never-ending trivia games, maybe invite a bunch of authors to do readings and signings and party with us, have a band, and have lots of books to give away as prizes and favours. :-)

  7. I would definetly have tons of food of all kinds all over the world! It would be in a huge place where you have all different part settings! Japanese Gardens. A replica of The Eiffel Tower. And there would be a long list of stars all around!

  8. Okay I know I'm not original when I say somewhere sandy and beachy... but I'm going to say it anyway! I would love to vacation in cancun, mexico and stay by the beach... having hot local guys with dark tans checking me out... sipping on some drink in a coconut... surrounded by the best of friends in the world.. oh yeah! Hehe thanks for the giveaway!

  9. I love a good hot summer night party especially if you can do it near the lake or beach! A nice campfire with hot dogs, s'mores...etc. Lots of cool drinks for both the adults and kiddos (good ole sweet ice tea is a must)! Tons of great food with summer staples such as watermelon! Just a nice summer night out in the wild with the crickets chirping and kids chasing lightning bugs (fire flies) out into the night followed by popsicles and sleeping under the stars for the kids. Can you tell I am from the South? Thanks for the great giveaway and happy summer reading!

  10. Best summer party would probably consist of my friends at the beach chilling & having fun. It'd start early in the morning where'd we could swim in the ocean & play some beach volleyball. Then, during the afternoon we'd just kind of chill, tan, & maybe read ;). Oh, and during this whole time there'd be lots of good food like steak! There'd be watermelon, ice cream, & every kind of good food you can imagine! Then towards night there'd be a concert with all different kinds of singers & bands! We'd just dance the night away and maybe add a bonefire with smores in thre?! Haha It'd be like my ideal day
    Thanks for this fun giveaway!

  11. For the best end of summer party I would throw a big bash on a yacht! One of those awesome yachts with the hot tub and sand on it, very fancy lol =)

  12. What says summer more than a tea party in a large garden? The flowers would be in bloom, people would be dressed like in the old days, wearing hats and gloves, waistcoats and bowler hats, and the tall three tiered tea trays would be filled with sandwiches and cake.

Some people would be wandering inside the large hedge maze, while others would ride in the carousel off to one corner, eating cotton candy while going 'round and round.

    1. Okay, that sounds awesome. But... maybe on a COOL summer day, so you don't get all your guest melting inside those gloves and waistcoats?! I may be 25, but I'm a sucker for riding a carousel wearing a long skirt, I feel like I'm in a storybook! :D

      Delete
    2. Yeah, the day should definitely be a bit cooler, or perhaps the people would ONLY be wearing gloves and waistcoats. :D But a light summer dress with a straw hat and lace gloves should be fine, I guess. I live in Finland, and we get a lot of cool summer days, lol.

I know, I love carousels - especially the really old ones with lots of detail in the animals. They definitely give out that storybook atmosphere. And I'm 29... :)

  13. I am not so good with party ideas, but when I think summer party I remember one from last year. It was in a small greek island under some cliffs there was an amazing beach and of course a bar, so we when there at night and it was a lot of fun. I guess what I am proposing is get close to some water, wear a swimsuit and have plenty of alchohol close by. Maybe a lifeguard would be nice too... ;P

  14. It's really hot in the summer right?! <---has no idea cause there aren't four seasons where I live.
What's a better way to cool down (or have chills running down your spine)...than to have some sort of haunted house event?

    OR

Have a 'flowing somen' event! (I've always wanted to try this) and I often see it mentioned as a summer event for the Japanese. :)

  15. I'm not great with ideas either but I'd love to throw a summer party abroad! If money's not an issue, we could all jet off to a Green island and have a party there. Beach, cocktails and beautiful scenery are a must! :)

  16. I say let’s throw a beach bonfire!
First we’ll need to find a beach that allows it, and then we'll need to start gathering things such as blankets, umbrellas, tiki torches, food (I’m thinking bbq included) and drinks; we could also have some games planned like beach soccer, volleyball, badminton, and of course, limbo. We would need music also, someone could play a couple of guitars and everyone could sing along. So come on over, and bring a friend! :D

    ReplyDelete
  17. First I would hire some bands to play, like Carly Rae Jepsen or Maroon 5. Set up a huge stage right on the beach, hire bartenders, and have plenty of liquor for my guest. I would have a huge buffet table with everyone on it. Twinkling light all over and party favors like IPads and Wii. There would also be games, and big prizes not to mention dance contest. Fun!!

  18. If I were to plan a summer bash with unlimited funds, I'd fly myself and my guests to Hawaii for surfing lessons and a three-day weekend stay at a 5-star resort inclusive of a massage, manicure, and pedicure for each of my guests, plus a bonfire party after a personal luau contest! The party would include the a personal chef and caterer with unlimited food and drink. And after the bonfire, a light show of fireworks to celebrate summer. Loot bags would include beauty products including tanning lotion, swim wear, flip flops, and a personalized surf board!---Oh my, I'd love to win the lottery so I could actually DO this!!! LOL. Thanks for the giveaway!

  19. I'm a sucker for a relaxed, casual, outdoorsy kind of summer party. That means sunshine, good food, music and being surrounded by friends. In my dream world it would maybe happen on board a catamaran - one of the big open ones with the woven-belt decking. It turns half the boat into a huge sunlounger-cum-deckchair! We'd need some kind of sound system with some chilled music, and some yummy food cooking in the galley. Maybe chicken legs and buttered potatoes, salad leaves and crusty bread, then cookies and strawberries and cream, all washed down with lemonade or sangria. Mid-way through the trip we'd moor in the shallow azure water and people could swim by the boat, sunbathe and eat. Then we'd sail back at sunset and build a bonfire on the beach, and someone would be playing an acoustic guitar (there's always a guy with a guitar at these parties), and we'd stay there until it was time to go home! Okay, now I totally want to have this party... Any millionaires out there fancy chipping in?!

  21. This is my entry:

Since money's no issue, I'd buy a whole Caribbean tropical island for my guests, with all the commodities. I'd have food and drinks for everyone, and I'd provide entertainment for them - all the kinds of water sports (or other sports as well), and instructors for everyone who wishes to learn them; and boat rides everywhere (to sightsee... my island would have lots of places worthy of sightseeing). I'd like to provide some musical entertainment as well, and every whim my guests had would be catered to by a small army of assistants. We would dance till the dawn, and then go to the beach the next day, just to sunbathe!

If only I could do that... for not only a party, a vacation maybe. It was fun to dream, thank you for hosting this challenge! :D

  22. You know I've always loved the traditional pool party! BBQ, friends, Tiki torches, hulu skirts, hawaiian shirts for the guys. I know it might sound lame to some people, but I've always found those fun.
Oh and floaties in the pool, with a volleyball net. Shady areas! I think that would be fun! And definitely affordable if you have an awesome pool! :) (I know you said money isn't a problem, but I still always take it into consideration :))

    ReplyDelete
  23. We should definitely have a party on the beach or somewhere poolside. So we can just soak up the sun, relax with a good book, or go for a swim if it gets too hot. Bring loads of food for the day and just enjoy! Thank you for the giveaway :)

  24. A party on a pool at night would be nice. We would have drinks and food and a hot pool waiting for us. Music would be playing and there would be a small corner for those who prefer to sit down with their friends in a quiet environment. The place could be in a hotel or at someone's house if it was big enough to house everyone ^_^

  25. I am not a party person, but since i love books, I say have a party at the lake in the mountains, like where I live, in the rain-forest of WA state, and do like a masquerade of sorts, or maybe favorite supernatural characters or species from books.
I don't know, and the weather here is nice and cool, not smoking hot, so it would be perfect, have a barbecue, maybe some fireworks off the boat over the lake maybe.

  26. I would rent a private plane and grab some friends and head over to europe. Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, paris, london, I want to go everywhere!

    ReplyDelete
  27. If money wasn't an issue, I would rent a private island somewhere for a weekend. For the party, I would get at least one really awesome band to play (more bands if you can get them!) a private concert. There would have to be yummy food and drinks - catered of course, with everything imaginable. I think it would be awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well if I were to host an end-of-the-summer party, I'd grab a bunch of friends, rent a boat, head over to the nearest island (if there's one close to you) and have a picnic on that island... it might be actually kinda fun :D

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'd rent a private yacht, and have a huge Caribbean party with all my friends&family. There would be tons of food (definitely Coconut Shrimp, as I love it :) cocktails and music. And swimming in the yacht's pool.

  30. This is the best summer party i can think of

A quiet intimate affair with close family & friends towards the end of the summer season, as a celebration of the summer. It would be held sort of late evening and in a large garden area. There would be a long wooden table (or two) with wooden chairs (decorated) all set out with the cutlery/summer plates & glasses etc, the middle would include candles and colourful flowers. The candles could be lit late evening. The food would be a sort of bbq and also a buffet with yummy summer puddings and desserts. There would even be a big colourful cake that would be cut to celebrate summer like celebrating a wedding with a wedding cake. There would a dance area with music so that as the night went on they could have a dance. For those more quiet, there would be a secluded area with comfy seats/couches/bean bags etc so people could read (we all love to read yeah!) and finally there would be an area with an hot tub so people could enjoy a cocktail or too maybe while they chill out and soak. Speaking of cocktails, there would cocktails-alcoholic and non, fancy drinks, punch bowls, fancy glasses with straws. The whole place would be decorated with bunting, flowers and twinkly lights!! twinkly lights above the tables and dance area. Low background music would be there whilst people ate at the table area, but later on the dance area would have more energetic music so people could enjoy themselves. I have included a link for Pinterest whereby i have done a summer party board just for this challenge to show visual pictures of all my ideas for this party. You will get a better idea of the party i have planned. Please click here

  31. I would do a project X, simply. This movie sucked but THE PARTY WAS AWESOME.

My version would be without cops. And neighborliness. And crazy drug-sellers.
(I'm probably boring, but everyone would love that <3)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I went to a murder mystery summer party and it was awesome! Every one played a character and dressed up as them ahead of time. It was a great way to have to talk to everyone and try to solve the mystery.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm not very creative either! But honestly? I'd probably have a Phantom of the Opera-style masquerade party at the local roller rink. Because who doesn't want to sing "Masquerade" in ridiculous outfits on SKATES?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Well, since you did say that funds were not an issue, the ultimate summer party would have to take place on one of the best beaches in the world: Maldives!

Take a look at this photo and see if you agree: http://www.mostinterestingfacts.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/most-beautiful-beaches-in-the-world-Maldives.jpg

I'd love to have a catered affair with fresh seafood from the ocean. I'd hire LARRY CARLTON and some other smooth jazz artists for the entertainment, and just have a good time! The beach would be lit up with torches and candles on the tables. Ahhhhh, just thinking about it brings a smile to my face! We could spend the night in those little huts on the beach that are pictured in the photo.
