Waiting on Wednesday (13)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine in which we showcase upcoming releases we are eagerly anticipating.

Endlessly (Paranormalcy #3)
by Kiersten White
Release Date: July 24, 2012

Goodreads Synopsis:

Try as she might, Evie can’t seem to escape her not-so-normal past. And what was supposed to be a blissfully normal school break is ruined when a massive group of paranormals shows up at her house, claiming that Evie is the only one who can protect them from a mysterious, perilous fate.

The deadly war between the faerie courts looms ever closer. The clock is ticking on the entire paranormal world. And its future rests solely in Evie’s hands.

So much for normal.

With a perfect blend of humor and suspense, Endlessly is everything readers could dream of in a conclusion—and the unexpected twists will keep them guessing until the very last page

Why I'm Waiting:

I absolutely adored the first two books in the series. So much humor and love and action! So it's no surprise I'm eagerly looking forward to the last installment in the series. Though I am incredibly sad to see such a fantastic series end!!!

So what are y'all waiting on this fine Wednesday? Be sure to tell me in the comments below!

All the best ♥

THIS IS THE SECOND IN A SERIES! IT WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

THIS IS PART OF MY SOPHOMORE CHALLENGE

Goodreads Synopsis:
Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

My Review:

Oh Kiersten White, how I adore thee! And if you are anything like your character Evie, then I have a feeling we’d get along perfectly!

My favorite feeling is when I love the second book just as much as its predecessor. Again, as with Paranormalcy, I was laughing from the very first page. Not many books can do that! That’s an amazing accomplishment in my book!

Evie is just as snarky, funny, and girly as in the first book. She knows her way around a taser (How bleeping awesome is that?!?!), but she’s still a teenage girl dealing with teenage problems (cue boy trouble!). While Evie does make some stupid decisions in this book, she definitely redeems herself. Evie really changes in this book and realizes who she is (Go Evie!).

And I love Lend! Don’t get me wrong, Reth is still on my radar (hey good lookin ;D), but Lend is just a great guy! He’s incredibly sweet and always there for Evie. All he wants to do is make her happy and be there for her. I’d definitely want him in real life.

Arianna is ill-tempered and moody, but really cares about Evie. She ends up being a really awesome vamp (not to mention deadly in the virtual world), and I'd definitely have her as my roommate.

And Jack! He’s arrogantly funny and I loved him! Honestly, I’d love to have him as a friend. My favorite chapter is definitely “Aphrodite on Steroids”. Y’all have to check it out. I literally almost cried laughing! However, although he’s funny, he’s damaged. He had a hard past and uses his humor to cover it up. I really just wanted to give him a hug!

However, while this may be just as funny and sarcastic as the first book, there is a more serious undertone. This is more of a coming-of-age book where Evie faces a lot of moral dilemmas and has to come to terms with who and what she is. Those last chapters where she really learns about herself, I just wanted to hug her and say “good job”. Just because she is “supposed” to do something, doesn’t mean she “has” to, something she definitely learned. She has choices, now she just has to choose.

Supernaturally is just as funny as Parnormalcy, but with a more serious story where Evie really learns about herself. I am eagerly anticipating the end of Evie’s story and July can’t come fast enough.

★★★★★ 5/5 bleeping stars!

Goodreads Synopsis:
Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

My Review:

Oh, bleep that was good.

This book was so much fun from the very beginning! And I mean that literally. I read the first page and I was already laughing!

I've found my new book BFF. I absolutely adore Evie! She would be so much fun to hang out with!  She's got a great narrating voice and is just so sarcastic and humorous. I was pretty much laughing continually through this book thanks to her. She's a lover high-heels, fashion, drama and all things pink. Not to mention she's got a taser. But not just any taser. A bedazzled, pink taser named Tasey....yeah, cause she's just that cool. I just had to add in this quote to show how awesome Tasey is:

“Bud, my self-defense and combat skills teacher, was still trying to get me to learn knife fighting. ‘Silver knives! Painful and sometimes deadly to nearly all paranormals!’”

“’Tasey!’ I countered. ‘Hot pink and sparkly!’”
-Evie

See! See how awesome she is?!?! Where can I get a hot pink, bejeweled taser?!? I'd be the high-heeled terror of the city with that thing! She is the perfect mix of kick-butt and girly...yeah, we could totally hang.

Now to the men (cause, ya know thats totally why I read ;D). Lend is adorable. I love him. I really do. He's honorable, loving, and caring. He's amazingly sweet, and kind and he's the kinda guy that you want in real life. But this isn't real life, so give me Reth! Deliciously dark, dangerous, and intoxicating Reth. Oh, he may not have been in there that often. but goodness! And I don't normally go for blondes ;)

And where's the sparkly vampire? The nice faerie? HA! No such things! Yeah, take all those nice, fluffy things you think about paranormals and just get that outta your head before you read this. Pop culture lied to us! Sparkly Vamps don't exist! though, thank goodness because thats just not normal :/ and don't even get me started on faeries! Fairy godmothers?!? Whatever!

If you couldn't tell from my review above, I absolutely love this book and I can't believe it took me so darn long to read it! Heck, I loved it so much I went out and bought the sequel immediately! And if y'all haven't read it yet then y'all need to get y'alls rears in gear and head on to the bookstore (that was a lot of y'alls in one sentence so you know I'm serious)! Stat! Cause it was just that bleeping good.

P.S. Read the book in order to understand the bleep thing. Its pertty funny! A nice incentive to get you to read it, huh? :P
